Coaches- To encourage competitive play, you may play up in the next age group any time, but we will have the following limitations for points-

1 – To qualify for your own age groups points, there must be at least 6 other teams signed up. If you place, you will get points for that position.

2 – To qualify for your own age groups points, you must not pick up older players. Your roster must still qualify to play at the younger level.

NEW - Teams are encouraged to participate in pin trading during the World Series. Pins need to be ordered soon. It usually takes 30 days to get them back. They are great items to collect. We will also do the Team Bags. Teams are encouraged to gather items from your local area to trade with other teams. Let us know who will be participating in this and we will match you up.

World Series Update-

Several coaches have expressed concerns about our upcoming World Series. With our current full week schedule, they were concerned with Parents having to take a whole weeks vacation and paying for several nights of hotel rooms. With the current economy in mind, and after hearing these concerns, we have decided to change the format to the following –

 14U, 16U, and 18U will be played Saturday Aug 1^st – Tuesday Aug 4^th . Opening ceremonies will be on Friday July 31^st starting at 6pm. This will be at Springwood Park in Burlington with check-in from 4pm – 6pm.

 8U, 10U, and 12U will be played Thursday Aug 6^th – Sunday Aug 9^th . Opening ceremonies will be on Wednesday Aug 5^th starting at 6pm. This will be at Mebane Park with check-in from 4pm – 6pm.

 

Games for both events will be played at both parks during the week.

 

We will also have a “Fun Day” for all age groups on Wednesday starting at 10am. Details about this will follow later. The Coaches Kickoff party is being planned for Saturday evening August 1^st.

 

The tournament format will still be a 5 game guarantee with 3 pool games seeding into a double elimination tournament. The fee will be reduced to $375 but we will need to charge a gate admission. We will be selling a discounted “tournament gate pass” that will get you in all 4 days of the tournament.

 

Any team that will be traveling 2 and a half hours can play without the regular requirement of participating in a prior IFA event. This requirement will be waived due the tough economic times, which makes it hard to travel much.

 

We hope these changes will relieve your minds and allow you to participate. We are looking forward to our 1^st ever World Series and hope to see you there!!

We are excited to announce that IFA will be working with Combat Sports this season.  Combat Sports will be a primary sponsor on a few of our events including the World Series and the Home Run contest.  They will have representatives present at certain tournaments to let you demo bats, etc..  We are still working out all the details, so more information to come ...

 

 

IFA will also be an official Combat dealer so we will have bats and other items for sale at the tournaments.  You will also be able to order these items from our website.
