IFA will be hosting a Fantasy Football league this Fall through CBS Sportline. Please email Larry - larrys70@hotmail.com if you are interested in joining. For fun, we can list your softball team as your fantasy team. We are accepting the first 20 teams to sign up. The cost is $30 per team and we will be awarding cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place. We have been getting a lot of negative feedback about moving the 14U pitching distance to 43ft. We may reconsider leaving the distance at 40ft until Spring. This way we can gather more opinions before we make a change. Please let us know your thoughts.

Coaches FYI-

Metal Cleats are only allowed in High School division. If you are playing 14U or younger, and one of your players is seen on the field with metal cleats, she will be required to change them. If she is caught a 2nd time during a tournament with metal cleats, she will be ejected.

Again in 2010, IFA will be offering a combine at select tournaments. Please see the "Who's Playing" page for the tournaments that this will be offered.

 

We will contact all of the College Coaches in NC, VA, SC, and TN to make them aware of our combines. We will also invite them to attend the tournaments in person. We will create a page on the message board to list the results so the coaches will have a place to follow a players progress. This will allow girls to get on their radar even at a young age. This will also draw more coaches to IFA tournaments.

Coaches - We are doing the "Play 5 get 1 Free" again this year.

 

To participate - You must go ahead and sign up for the 6 you want to play. If you don't give us the 6 events and say "for the play 5 incentive" you are not eligible.

 

**State Tournaments, all World events, Queen of the Diamond, Clash of the Champions, and Scaremare will count in the 5 played, but not for the free event.

After much thought and consideration, we have decided to leave the 14U age groups pitching distance in NC at 40ft.

 

Middle School will remain at 40ft in 2010 so we felt it would be best to stay there for 14U. After many emails and phone calls from coaches, the huge majority wanted 14U to remain at 40ft.

 

Our first thought was to offer both options, but that would be a points nightmare. We hope everyone will support our decision. We will look at this again at the end of the season and re-assess for 2011.

Why play IFA?

- IFA was created solely for girls Fastpitch and we reward the girls for their accomplishments more than any other organization. A few examples -

- Any girl that hits a home run will receive a commemorative mini bat and be recognized on our website.

- Any girl that pitches a no-hitter will receive the game ball and a free tournament shirt and be recognized on our website.

- Any girl that pitches a perfect game will receive a perfect game trophy and each player on her team will get a special medal to recognize a team effort. All will be recognized on our website.

- We also give game MVP medals- Each team will select and award a game MVP for your first 2 games of our tournament. Medals will be provided by IFA.

- After each Championship game- Each team will select and award a tournament MVP from the opposing team. Also our umpires will select and award a game ball to 1 player from each team.

Along with these special individual recognitions, IFA also stands out from others by giving additional rewards back to our teams-

- IFA Points Challenge – we have the largest points prize package of any organization in NC.

- IFA awards some of the best trophies around. Depending on the number of teams, we will give trophies or medals for up to 6 places.

- Upon check-in, each team will receive a case of bottled water

- Our Home run contest runs from March through August. The girl that hits the most home runs in each age group will receive a special prize. In 2009 we awarded a free Combat bat.

- Our “Race to Four” contest will award the first team in each age group to win 4 tournaments with a set of “Race to Four” hoodies, a pizza party and get to play in the Holiday tournament for free.

- You can participate in our Play 5 Get 1 free- For every 5 tournaments that you play in, IFA will give you the 6^th tournament for free. You will need to commit to the 5 first then your 6th is free.

- IFA also has a few selected tournaments where the winning teams will get free tournaments in 2011. This is in addition to our regular trophy package.

- We also award the winners of our State Tournament with a free paid berth to our World Series.

A few other special offers-

- At selected tournaments, IFA will offer a combine that will allow 5 girls from each team to test their skills in pitching, running, and pop times. IFA will keep track of these stats and post on a special section of our website.

- IFA also remembers the siblings that are forced to come along.......at special tournaments, we will have bounce houses and /or water slides set up for the kids.

- At IFA, customer service is priority number 1. We are always looking for ways to improve your experience and are open to suggestions. We want each IFA tournament to be the most Coach, Player, and Parent friendly place to play.
