2010 Roster Information

To protect the integrity of the IFA Points Challenge, the following roster requirements will be implemented for the 2010 season:

Rosters will be open until May 1, 2010 for 8U, 10U, 12U, & 14U teams.

Rosters will be open until June 1, 2010 for 16U & 18U (High School Division) teams.

Rosters will be monitored from May 1, 2010 through August 16, 2010 for 8U, 10U, 12U, & 14U teams. We will "Freeze" the roster you submit for the first tournament you play in following May 1st. You will still need to submit a current roster each tournament. This is for Liability purposes.

Rosters will be monitored from June 1, 2010 through August 16, 2010 for 16U & 18U (High School Division) teams. We will "Freeze" the roster you submit for the first tournament you play in following June 1st. You will still need to submit a current roster each tournament. This is for Liability purposes.

** A player can not play in a different age group to avoid these requirements. Example- If a player is on a 12U roster, she will need to release before she can play on a 14U team. Likewise, if a player is eligible to play 12U but is on a 14U roster, she must release to pick up with a 12U team.

If you pick up a new player, that is not already on an IFA roster, that is fine. Just let the director know that you have added a player when you turn in your roster at the first tournament that the new player will participate in. We will add this new player to your "frozen" roster and go from there.

A player release form will be required to play for a different team.  There will be two options for release:

Temporary Release - Allows a player to release from her primary team to pick up with another team for a specific tournament.  After the player has played in this specific tournament, she will be considered a rostered player on her primary team again without any additional release forms.  Each player will be allowed to file two temporary releases during the monitored period.

Permanent Release - Allows a player to release from her primary team and join a new team permanently.  Each player will be allowed to file two permanent releases during the monitored period.

Both release forms must be approved and signed by the Head Coach of the primary team before a release will be granted.

Release forms must be turned in with the roster listing the player that is requesting the release.

IFA will keep a copy of each teams "frozen" roster at each site. If a team is caught playing with a player that was not properly released during the monitored period, the team will be disqualified.

Coaches - Beginning May 1, 2010 for 8U - 14U teams and June 1, 2010 for 16U & 18U (High School Division) teams, running through the end of August, you will be asked upon check-in if your roster is legal and if any players appear on your roster that are on another IFA team's roster without a legal release form.  You must initial the team check-in list to acknowledge this.  If during the tournament, it is brought to the Director's attention that you have an illegal player, your team will be disqualified from the tournament without receiving a refund.

If the Head Coach will not grant a release, the IFA Director will discuss reasons with the coach and make the final decision.

We hope you understand and will do your best to comply with these rules.  This is simply an attempt to protect the integrity of the Points Challenge.
